January Visit to Ocean Beach is a photograph captured in late afternoon on a January winter day in San Francisco.
This happened to be a one day reprieve from weeks of pounding rain storms that Northern California received in early 2023 causing damage from flooding, wind, and mudslides. The beach was still wet and waves still stirred up, but a smattering of people made it outside to enjoy some time at the beach.

Born and raised in North Dakota, she obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Minnesota State University in Mankato, MN. Her art education began when her parents enrolled Bonnie in the Art Instruction Schools as a child. This was a home study "Draw Me" school that advertised frequently in the magazines of the time. She continued her interest in art during her college years, majoring in fine art, photography and printmaking. Not long after completing her college BFA degree, Bonnie moved to San Francisco, and continued her art education by taking photography...
