Description
Ocotillo Cactus with Mountains and Sky is a photograph taken in Mohave County Arizona during the ocotillo blooming season that generally lasts between late May and June each year.
Ocotillo cactus requires constant sun and the surge in heat in late spring causes the lovely bright coral to orange-colored blooms to pop from the dark prickly cactus stalks. Most of the year these cacti appear to be dead with tall dark grey squiggly stalks that are generally unattractive, but once a year tiny green leaves and the beautiful coral colored blooms grace us with their sudden presence.
