Artist's Description

Reaching to Infinity is a photo captured while looking up to the treetops in Muir Woods National Monument. The foliage of the redwood trees forms a canopy that shades the forest floor.

Proclaimed a national monument in 1908 by Pres. Theodore Roosevelt, the land for Muir Woods was donated by Congressman William Kent (to avoid the canyon being used by a water company as a reservoir) and dedicated to naturalist John Muir, “the father of national parks.”
