Saint Patricks Catholic Church is a photograph captured on a sunny day from the Yerba Buena Gardens park across from this historic church on Mission Street in San Francisco. Every time I see this view I am struck by the contrast of the old and new architecture.
The church was founded in 1851 at a different location and served the Irish community. As the congregation grew, a larger church was built on this location in 1871, but was destroyed by the 1906 earthquake and was rebuilt. The church now serves a diverse congregation and the Gothic revival style building was made a historic landmark in 1968.

Born and raised in North Dakota, she obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Minnesota State University in Mankato, MN. Her art education began when her parents enrolled Bonnie in the Art Instruction Schools as a child. This was a home study "Draw Me" school that advertised frequently in the magazines of the time. She continued her interest in art during her college years, majoring in fine art, photography and printmaking. Not long after completing her college BFA degree, Bonnie moved to San Francisco, and continued her art education by taking photography...
