Artist's Description

The Palace of Fine Arts was built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition in San Francisco. It sits beside a pond or small lake. Here a lone seagull calmly cruises the surface of the reflective pond, and is surrounded by classical columns bathed in shadows, gardens, and peaceful afternoon light.
