Windy Day at Ocean Beach was captured in late afternoon at this San Francisco beach that is usually packed with people on a good day. But on this sunny late afternoon there were 40 mph winds and the beach was all but deserted. A group of young people had bused out to the beach with me and are seen in the distance, their foot prints in the foreground. But even one of them has been "blown over" by the winds. I tried several times to go further down the beach, but could not fight the winds and blowing sand and eventually gave up.

Born and raised in North Dakota, she obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Minnesota State University in Mankato, MN. Her art education began when her parents enrolled Bonnie in the Art Instruction Schools as a child. This was a home study "Draw Me" school that advertised frequently in the magazines of the time. She continued her interest in art during her college years, majoring in fine art, photography and printmaking. Not long after completing her college BFA degree, Bonnie moved to San Francisco, and continued her art education by taking photography...
