Pier 7 Afternoon on the Waterfront is a photograph of this usually bustling pier on the San Francisco waterfront. On this day the pier was pretty quiet, just a few people were out for their once a day exercise walk, allowed during the "Shelter in Place" order in San Francisco during the novel coronavirus pandemic. After a couple weeks indoors, the fresh air off the Bay was a very welcome respite. And the lamps looked pretty in the afternoon sun.

Born and raised in North Dakota, she obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Minnesota State University in Mankato, MN. Her art education began when her parents enrolled Bonnie in the Art Instruction Schools as a child. This was a home study "Draw Me" school that advertised frequently in the magazines of the time. She continued her interest in art during her college years, majoring in fine art, photography and printmaking. Not long after completing her college BFA degree, Bonnie moved to San Francisco, and continued her art education by taking photography...
