A Night at the Key Klub is a photograph taken at night of this long time locale on Bush Street in San Francisco between Taylor and Mason Sts. A couple of figures sit near the window with their drinks, gazing out into the dark night.
The building went up in 1922, but I'm I'm not sure when the Key Klub establishment moved in. It closed in the late 1980's, and the building lay empty for many years. It was revived a few years ago when another establishment moved in and kept the iconic sign declaring the Key Klub as the "Crossroads of the World."
It was featured in Life Magazine (Oct 4, 1954, p.75) saying this about the place:
"Around the Key Club, a bar on San Francisco's Bush St, they all remember a pet rabbit. He hung around all day while the customers offered him carrots dipped in gin. Last winter, a Hollywood director, Peter McCabe, became a pal of the rabbit and decided, for his own good, to carry him off to a farm in nearby Eureka. He naturally named him...

Born and raised in North Dakota, she obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Minnesota State University in Mankato, MN. Her art education began when her parents enrolled Bonnie in the Art Instruction Schools as a child. This was a home study "Draw Me" school that advertised frequently in the magazines of the time. She continued her interest in art during her college years, majoring in fine art, photography and printmaking.
