Golden Chicken is a photograph taken at the Chinese New Year Parade in San Francisco. It has been digitally altered to remove the street background.
According to the 2017 Chinese Lunar Calendar, this is a Year of the Rooster but actually falls on a Female Fire Chicken Year, rather than the male Rooster. The annual parade in San Francisco is the largest such parade in North America and always spectacular fun.

Born and raised in North Dakota, she obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Minnesota State University in Mankato, MN. Her art education began when her parents enrolled Bonnie in the Art Instruction Schools as a child. This was a home study "Draw Me" school that advertised frequently in the magazines of the time. She continued her interest in art during her college years, majoring in fine art, photography and printmaking. Not long after completing her college BFA degree, Bonnie moved to San Francisco, and continued her art education by taking photography...
