Description
Dead of Winter is a photo painting prepared to reflect the sense of depression many people feel in the dark of winter days and nights. I also prepared the following poem to accompany the image when I first put this on my blog:
In the Dead...
In the dead night of winter
Loneliness sets in
Hard and crusty like the weathered snow
But ragged edged and sharp
Searing razors graze your flesh
Quick scars rise and fall
Heavy lead lines your heart
A deep hollow in the stomach
You yearn for something more
Something not there
All you see is the dark
So still and cold
It's a bone chilling winter of the soul
With dawn so very far away

Very nice work, Bonnie ... So many struggle with the dark of winter - very symbolic. l/f
